Best Ways to Enjoy the Supermoon Lunar Eclipse
Across different cultures and religions there are similarities to myths about the moon and its relationship to us. Even in today’s modern society, a large portion of the human population feels a strong, personal connection to the moon. They can't explain it, but when the moonlight floods the sky to brighten up the night, these certain beings feel a palpable energy. Whether the reason is spiritual, religious, or completely secular, some of us just feel more partial to the celestial body-- especially when it is a full moon. There’s something about it that makes you feel the night will be just that bit more magical. At least, this rings absolutely true for me ever since I was young. Even if your relationship with the moon isn’t quite as intense, there’s no doubt that you are a bit intrigued by the Supermoon Lunar Eclipse that everyone is buzzing about.
By now you must have heard that there will be a Supermoon Lunar Eclipse this Sunday, September 27th or early Monday morning, September 28th GMT. If you don't know what that is, it's basically a full moon closest it can possibly be to the Earth within orbit while passing through Earth's shadow. Watch this quick video that does a better job explaining the event.
You have to admit that this is a pretty cool thing to happen whether you are into astronomy or not. With everyone talking about this special, rare occasion, I have scoured the web and compiled a list of resources and the best ways you can enjoy it. Some of them may not be the most probable way you will be able to watch the lunar eclipse, but there are plenty other options for wherever you may be.
If you don't live in the U.S. try searching for the sky's visibility in your area. If you are on the West Coast of the U.S., it wont be visible for the first hour at 6:07 pm. I have found, however, a convenient timetable schedule of when the eclipse is happening in different time zones.
The entirety of the eclipse will last a total of 5 hours, 11 minutes. You can check out the schedule and other information about the event at timeanddate.com. Now that you have that information, here is the list of the most amazing ways to enjoy the lunar show. We realize some of these options are too late to be viable for you, but we do hope that any number of these will give you ideas on how to enjoy this weekend’s special occasion. If you really enjoyed any of these options that you couldn’t do this year, there’s always 2033 you can plan for!

Although there are still speculations as to why we feel affected by the moon cycle, science has debunked that there is any measurable effect the moon has on us. So perhaps it is just something innately in our minds that stirs our curiosity towards the moon. It reminds us of how small we are in this universe and serves as a symbol of the cycle of our own lives.
Even if you can't get a great view of the moon on Sunday night, try going outside anyway and using that lunar energy to spark something positive in you. Of course, do it as safely as possible, and enjoying knowing you will always remember what you did during the 2015 Supermoon Lunar Eclipse.
