The past couple of months have been a whirlwind for the Wetravel team! We left Berkeley and moved into a new office in San Francisco. We redesigned the Wetravel site. And we recently had the opportunity to compete in a startup pitch contest, which we won!

Last week, the Wetravel team took part in a competition called #33contest competing against more than 50 other travel startups. Organized by 33entrepreneurs, a startup accelerator and global seed fund, the contest focuses on finding innovative ideas and great teams from around the world that concentrate on the wine, food, and travel industries. Wetravel competed in the San Francisco division and it happened to be the last and largest chapter on their US tour! The selection committee had to make some difficult decisions, since there were 40 to 50 startups that were invited to pitch that day. They had to choose 4 winners (2 from the food and wine group and 2 from the travel group). Although we faced some stiff competition, we were fortunate enough to be selected as one of the winning teams! Part of the prize includes an invitation to pitch at the Phocuswright Conference, one of the world’s largest travel conferences, and the chance to compete for a $100K investment. We're extremely excited about this and we can't wait until then!

We at Wetravel want to thank 33entrepreneurs for this amazing opportunity and experience. We’re incredibly grateful for the positive responses, encouragement, and support that we’ve received thus far. We can’t wait to share more announcements and developments with you, as we work toward the growth and promising future of Wetravel!
