We at Wetravel are all for diverse experiences. In fact, we think that’s how you learn, grow, and enjoy life. To reflect this, we’re expanding our horizons and thinking about the different forms of group trips. And one of them includes bachelor and bachelorette parties.

Bachelor and bachelorette parties fall under a specific type of trip, so they don’t occur as frequently as family trips or tours. And yet, they’re still really important. Although they tend to have a reputation for being the last days of a person’s single life, they’re much more than that. Bachelor and bachelorette parties mark the end of a chapter in someone’s life and the beginning of a new one. When you plan a bachelor or bachelorette party, you’re celebrating someone and their decision to spend the rest of their life with another person. It’s a momentous occasion and something you should commemorate... which is also why planning one can be pretty stressful.

You’re celebrating a new chapter in someone’s life, so of course, you want to make it right. Not only do you have to think about the person that you’re planning this event for, but you also have to consider the details, logistics, and cost of it all. It can definitely make your head swirl! But don’t worry, because Wetravel has got you covered. To start, we’ve come up with a list of five things that you should consider when planning a bachelor or bachelorette party.

Time

Time is definitely something that you want to think about during the early stages of your planning. We recommend constructing a timeline that features when the wedding is, when you’re aiming to have the bachelor or bachelorette party, how long the event will be, and how long it will take to cement the details and plans.

Location

Location can be crucial to the planning of a bachelor or bachelorette party. Are you staying locally or are you traveling? Outdoors or indoors? Rural or urban? These are important questions that you need to start asking, so you can narrow down your scope and planning. Figuring out the location can also help you define other details for the party or trip, such as activities and dress code.

Activities

Make your event an exciting and memorable one by planning some activities to do with everyone who attends. Think about what the bride or groom likes to do and try to incorporate that into your itinerary. You might also consider doing things that they haven’t done before, but would love to try.

Attendees

While it may be tempting to invite a lot of people to the celebration, reserve the mass invitations for the wedding. Instead, think about the specific people that the bride or groom would want to invite to the bachelor or bachelorette party. Any family members or friends that must attend? Don’t forget to invite those in the wedding party! They’ll want to be included in the festivities too! Run the guest list by the bride or groom and confirm with them before you send out those invites.

Bride and Groom

In all of this planning, sometimes it can be easy to fixate on the details of the event. What type of food? What’s the dress code? Where is it going to be held? But remember that you’re planning this event for the bride or groom as a last hurrah or as another way to celebrate the start of a new chapter in their lives. Consider their interests, likes, dislikes, personalities, and other tidbits of their lives when you plan this event because, ultimately, you’re celebrating them!

We at Wetravel know that there are so many other things that you should consider when planning a bachelor or bachelorette party, so don’t think that this is the end-all-be-all list. Just think of it as more of a starting point. That way, you can start planning these epic events and they’ll all go off without a hitch!
